    WNBA pre-draft power rankings

Here’s the ranking of every WNBA team from best to worst. This is the pre-draft breakdown of where every team stands amongst each other in the league.

    12. Chicago Sky

The Sky missed the playoffs last season and just lost their only all star in Kahleah Cooper. Chicago trading up in the draft is an indication that the team is looking more focused on rebuilding this season.

    11. Washington Mystics

The Mystics are in a rocky position, losing Natasha Cloud to free agency and all star Ella Delle Donne sitting out in 2024.  The missed production of two starters should mean that Washington takes a step back this year.

    10. Los Angeles Sparks

The legendary Nneka Ogwumike took her talents to Seattle, leaving her time of 12 seasons in Los Angeles behind her. Also, Jordin Canada, who made the 2023 all defensive 1st team, has left the Sparks as well. The Sparks should be in rebuild mode after losing their two best players.

    9. Minnesota Lynx

There is enough talent on the Lynx with Naphessa Collier and Kayla McBride to make the playoffs. However, Minnesota was the bottom three worst defensive team and if they don’t improve, the Lynx will be a first round exit at best.

    8. Indiana Fever

2023 Rookie of the Year, Aliyah Boston, will look to take the next step her sophomore season. If Boston is paired with Caitlin Clark, then the young duo may scare the entire league. The Fever could be the best young duo in the entire WNBA for 2024.

    7. Atlanta Dream

The all-star trio of Cheyene Parker, Alisha Gray, and Rhynne Howard should lead the bulk of the Dream’s scoring. Now adding a true point guard in Jordin Canada, the Dream are really well-rounded and could surprise some teams. Atlanta is the biggest sleeper team for 2024.

    6. Dallas Wings

Dallas has maintained their roster and holds a team good enough to make the playoffs. However, the question is will the Wings take the next step? Although Arike Ogubowale is superb, the team itself just isn’t ready to compete for a championship.

    5. Phoenix Mercury

Diana Taurasi will get a lot of help compared to last season with the return of Brittney Griner. Along with Griner, Phoenix added Natasha Cloud and Kahleah Cooper to help improve the roster. Mercury should be one of the most improved teams next season.

    4. Seattle Storm

The Storm easily won the free agency sweepstakes in adding Diggins-Smith and Nneka Ogwumike. They will be playing with the all-star duo Jewell Loyd and Ezi Magbegor. Seattle should have one of the best starting lineups in the league.

    3. Connecticut Sun

Connecticut was one of the best teams in 2023, and now they have Brionna Jones returning. The Sun has the talent to be among one of the best, but it is hard to put them above the top two. There is still distance Connecticut has to make up to match the Aces and Liberty.

    2. New York Liberty

New York is the team with the best chance to dethrone the Aces as the Champions. Breanna Stewart and Ionescu lead one of the most talented squads that is well-rounded on both sides of the ball. Liberty has what it takes to win it all next season.

    1. Las Vegas Aces

The Aces still have a roster that has 4 all stars on it and that won the title last year. Las Vegas is still just as good as this season, which sets them up as the clear favorite. The Aces are still the team to beat in 2024.
