INGLEWOOD, Calif.- – — Norman Powell scored 26 points — his seventh straight game with 20+ points — and the Los Angeles Clippers knock off the Philadelphia 76ers 110-98 on Wednesday night in Paul George’s return to face his former team.
Powell had a very efficient night shooting 8-10 from the field including 6-8 from three. He scored the game-high with his 26 points and added 6 assists for a Clippers team who have now won two-straight games at home with the win.
James Harden added 18 points, four rebounds and six assists for the Clippers.
The Clippers had five players finish the game in double figures.
The game was tied at 51 at the half but was all Los Angles in the second half. The Clippers won the third quarter 33-17 and didn’t look back from there.
With their defensive effort only allowing 98 points. The Clippers are now the second ranked defense in the NBA.
George returning back to LA as a Sixer had a solid performance. He finished the game with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 block in front of the Clipper fans who other than some cheers for his celebration video booed the former Clipper all night.
The Clippers now improve to 4-4 with the win and will look to make it three straight when the Raptors visit on Saturday night.
