Powell scores 20+ for the fifth straight game but another poor second half by the Clippers lead to 105-92 loss to the Thunder

LOS ANGELES – – — Norman Powell scores 24 points to lead the Clippers but the Thunders depth was too much in their 105-92 win on Saturday night.

The Clippers lead the game 28-19 after the first quarter but for the second straight game everything went downhill.

The Clippers lost every quarter after the opening quarter and only scored 14 points in the fourth quarter.

“We’re not that good right now…We’re not very good,” Coach Tyronn Lue said.

A big reason the Clippers could be fading late in games is due to fatigue. Los Angeles was playing their third game in four nights, but Lue thinks it’s just an excuse.

“We got to sustain it for 48 minutes,” he said. “Just being mentally tough, being strong. We’re not the only team playing this kind of schedule.”

Powell was one of the positives for the Clippers as he was the only player to score over 13 points but playing against a Thunder team with such a deep roster. That will never win you a game against them.

“I mean, you know, we’re playing good for 28, 32 minutes, but we just gotta stay with it,” Powell said.

Oklahoma City was led by young superstar guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who scored 25 points with 9 assists. Six players scored in double figures for the Thunder.

James Harden finished the game with a near triple double. Harden scored 12 points adding 7 assists and 13 rebounds. He struggled shooting on the night finishing just 4-13 from the field.

After this loss, the Clippers are now 0-4 inside of their new home arena, the Intuit Dome.

Los Angeles is back in action on Monday night when they face-off with the San Antonio Spurs.
