LOS ANGELES – The Kings offense was scorching hot and had multiple players flourish in their commanding victory over the Bruins, 7-2.
After a 7-2 victory over the Hurricanes, the Kings wanted to replicate that performance in the back-to-back against the Bruins. Just like the Carolina game, the Kings showed off with offensive fireworks.
When the game was tied at two goals a piece, it seemed like Los Angeles would be in a tight battle. However, the Kings kept a fluent pace on offense and finished the game on a five-goal run.
The impressive outburst was not just one player, but it was the entire team that contributed to the win. The team is clicking on all cylinders and everyone is contributing to the spectacular play on offense.
In this matchup, the Kings had 16 players who recorded at least one. This is the first time in NHL history that a team had that many players securing a point in a game.
From the 16 Kings players that recorded a point, there were five that finished with two points. Quinton Byfield and Tanner Jeannot secured their points from a goal and an assist each. While Adrian Kempe, Brandt Clarke and Joel Edmundson recorded two assists for their points.
“It’s everyone just buying in as a group and playing the right way,” said Warren Foegele. “It’s fun coming to the rink with this group, and you can tell that we have a lot of fun out there, and we battle for each other.”
The all-around team dominance of the Kings was a runaway freight train that the Bruins couldn’t handle. The Kings steamrolled their way to one of their most impressive victories of the season.
Although the Bruins lost, Elias Linholm and Morgan Geekie scored two goals for Boston. Pavel Zacha and Cole Koepke were credited with an assist each on the goals.
Back-to-back seven-goal games is the perfect type of offensive display for the Kings 10 games before the playoffs. Los Angeles will look to continue their red-hot momentum against another Eastern conference opponent.
The Kings will have a golden opportunity to continue their dominance against the Rangers on Tuesday. If the Kings take care of business at home, it’ll be their seventh straight victory at Crypto.com Arena.
