INGLEWOOD, Calif. – – The Intuit Dome era for the Los Angeles Clippers has begun and to describe the first game played inside the brand new arena all you can say is: wow.
For the first time in one quarter of a century, the Los Angeles Clippers played a home game in their own, exclusive arena on Monday night.
The Intuit Dome, the $2 billion Inglewood arena, is now open seven years after it was first announced to be in the works.
This arena was made for hoops and the players & fans enjoyed the experience for game one in the building.
This was the first of two preseason games in the Intuit Dome before the regular season begins October 23rd when the Clippers host the Phoenix Suns.
The Clippers were able to pick up the win in their new home 110-96 knocking off the Dallas Mavericks.
James Harden posted a double-double with 10 points and 12 assists in 23 minutes to lead Los Angeles. Norman Powell scored 13 points to lead the starting group in scoring.
The star of the night on the floor for the Clippers was guard Kevin Porter Jr., who finished the game with a team-leading 18 points. Porter was looking very Harden-like with his moves and playmaking for his teammates.
The Clippers finish up their preseason slate back inside of the beautiful Intuit Dome on Thursday when they matchup with the Sacramento Kings.
