Coach Miller Leads the Sparks Future

Curt Miller is entering his second season as the Sparks Head Coach with the vision of improving the Sparks future.

Although the Sparks had a 17-23 record and missed the playoffs, Miller has had success with rebuilding teams throughout his entire career.

In Millers first head coaching position, he took over a Bowling Green State team that had three straight losing seasons before he arrived.

However in his third season as a coach, Miller improved Bowling Green to a 21-10 record in 2004.

From 2005-2012, Miller led Bowling Green State to five NCAA Tournament appearances and a run to the Sweet Sixteen in 2007.

After his tenure with the Falcons, Miller became the coach for the Indiana Hoosiers from 2013-2014.

Before Miller arrived in Indiana, the Hoosiers had two consecutive seasons with single digit wins. Miller immediately improved the team to double-digit wins and led them to a 21-13 record in 2014.

Miller started his WNBA coaching career with the task of improving the Connecticut Sun. Connecticut had three straight losing seasons before Miller arrived in 2016.

In his second season, Miller led Connecticut to a 21-13 record and an appearance in the 2017 East Semifinals.

Throughout Miller’s time in Connecticut, he led the Sun to six straight playoff appearances from 2017-2022. The Sun were also able to reach two WNBA Finals in 2019 and 2022 during this span as well.

Every team Miller has coached for was able to have a winning record in his second or third season with that program.

Now Miller enters his second season with the Sparks, who are currently in a rebuilding process. Yet the Sparks hired the man who has excelled at rebuilding teams throughout his entire career.

The Sparks are looking to get back to their winning ways and Curt Miller is the coach who can eventually bring the Sparks back to a title contender.
