LOS ANGELES — The Hawks have three players record a double-double in a comfortable win over the Clippers, 110-93.
Dejounte Murray recorded 21 points and 10 assists. Jalen Johnson recorded 18 points and 12 rebounds. Clint Capela also added 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Atlanta also saw Deandre Hunter score 20 points and Bogdan Bogdanovic notch 12 points.
This resulted in the Hawks having five players score in double digits. For the Clippers, only Paul George and Kawhi Leonard scored at least 10 points.
The well-balanced effort from the Hawks also led to better ball movement from the team.
The Hawks had a total of 32 assists, which was nearly double the Clippers’ number. The Clippers only had 17 assists.
The ball movement from the Hawks led to a better shot selection for the Hawks.
The Hawks shot 50% from three and 48.8% overall, which were higher than the Clippers’ shooting. Los Angeles was 30.6% from three pointers and 37.8% overall.
Although the Clippers lost, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George combined for 54 of the 93 total points from Los Angeles. Leonard had 28 points while George collected 26 points.
“I believe this team can get 16 wins when it matters most,” Paul George said. “We can’t look like that team that we all think we can be, if we don’t start shaping up.”
The Clippers have not been playing their best recently as they have lost four of their past five games.
To get out of this slump, The Clippers must win on Wednesday in Portland. A loss to the Trail Blazers could sense danger for the Clippers.
