LOS ANGELES — LeBron James leads a furious comeback to steal the win against the Clippers, 116-112.
LeBron James made 7 three pointers and scored 34 points on the night.
After the Clippers were leading 98-77 at the beginning of the fourth quarter, however it went downhill from there.
“It’s hard to play with pace when you’re not getting stops,” Coach Ty Lue said. “In the fourth quarter we weren’t able to get a lot of stops.”
There weren’t many defensive stops for the Clippers as the Lakers were able to score at will. The Lakers caught fire shooting as they made 9 of their total 14 threes in the fourth quarter.
The efficiency from the three-point line was the difference as the Lakers had the edge beyond the arc. The Lakers shot 38.9% while the Clippers were only 27% from three pointers.
The efficient shooting of the Lakers also led to them stringing together defensive stops. Both the offense and defense of the Lakers shifted the momentum to give them a 114-112 lead with 10 seconds left.
On the final Clippers’ possession, LeBron James stopped Kawhi Leonard from scoring to help seal the win for the Lakers in regulation.
Despite the late collapse, Kawhi Leonard and James Harden performed well for the Clippers. Leonard scored 26 points on 11/19 field goals. Harden scored 23 and had 9 assists.
The Clippers have lost two straight and have dropped 3 of their past 4 games.
On Friday, The Clippers will head to Washington D.C. and challenge the Wizards
