LOS ANGELES — Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo lead the Bucks past the injury-riddled Clippers, 124-117.
Damian Lillard had 35 points, 11 assists and 7 rebounds. While Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded 34 points, 11 assists and 7 rebounds.
Antetokounmpo and Lillard were aggressive on offense as they appeared the most at the foul line. They combined for 22 of the 27 free throw attempts from the Bucks.
This was more free throw attempts than the entire Clippers team had in the game. As Los Angeles only attempted 10 free throws.
It was difficult for the Clippers to match the Bucks’ starpower without Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
The Bucks’ starting lineup outscored the Clippers’ starting lineup 100-70. This was ultimately the deciding factor in the Bucks victory.
Despite the loss, the Clippers saw impactful minutes from Bones Hyland and Brandon Boston Jr.
Hyland scored 12 points and dished out 5 assists in 21 minutes of action. Boston Jr. scored 5 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 18 minutes.
“Getting different looks and seeing different players as we go into the playoffs,” Coach Ty Lue. “It was good to see our young guys get on the floor and get a chance to play in a big game like this.”
Although the loss puts the Clippers at a 41-22 record, they have a chance to bounce back on Tuesday at the Crpyto.com Arena.
The Clippers must win this game to even the regular season series at 2-2 with the Timberwolves.
