Lakers training camp Day 3 brought the first extended scrimmage, Redick’s praise for Dalton Knecht amid reports he could be waived, a mid-scrimmage timeout to teach rookie Cam Carr, unnamed limited players listed as TBD for Sacramento, and LaRavia calling it the best camp of his career.

Lakers training camp Day 2 got so physical JJ Redick cut practice short. The wings drew a ‘line of confrontation,’ Reaves says Thybulle and Williams are hard to score on, Luka and Reaves are being kept apart on purpose, and Redick admits he once felt like he was cosplaying.

JJ Redick opened Lakers training camp by declaring a meritocracy, laid out three camp goals, confirmed assistant Bob Beyer’s retirement, praised Sandro Mamukelashvili as an offensive connector and reported no health concerns.

With LeBron James gone, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves own the Lakers locker room. Luka says he’s healthy with no restrictions, Reaves explains his one-on-one leadership style, and the Slovenia trip is already paying off as camp opens.

Lakers Media Day puts Walker Kessler in the spotlight as JJ Redick shifts from switching to rim protection, drop coverage, and a younger, disruptive wing group.
