Rams Seek Redemption in Playoff Rematch Against Undefeated Eagles

The stage is set for a monumental Week 3 clash as the undefeated Los Angeles Rams travel to Philadelphia for a highly anticipated playoff rematch against the also undefeated Eagles. With both teams sitting at a pristine 2-0, this early-season showdown promises to be a true test of wills and a potential preview of the NFC Championship. For the Rams, this game is about more than just maintaining their perfect record; it’s about redemption. After a heartbreaking 28-22 loss to the Eagles in last season’s Divisional Round, the Rams are hungry to prove they have what it takes to beat the reigning NFC champions.

The Rams have burst out of the gates in 2025, showcasing an explosive offense and a resilient defense that has carried them to impressive victories over the Texans and Titans. Matthew Stafford is playing with the poise and confidence of a Super Bowl champion, and the addition of wide receiver Davante Adams has ignited the passing game. The dynamic duo of Adams and Puka Nacua has been virtually unstoppable, combining for an incredible 28 catches for 378 yards and a touchdown in their first two games together. Their instant chemistry has added a new dimension to the Rams’ offense, making them one of the most feared passing attacks in the league.

However, the Rams’ perfect start has been tempered by a significant injury blow. This week, the team placed starting cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon on Injured Reserve with a broken clavicle sustained in the win over the Titans. Witherspoon’s absence will be a major test for the Rams’ secondary, which will now have to contend with the Eagles’ potent passing attack without one of its key players. Head coach Sean McVay has expressed confidence in the team’s depth, with Emmanuel Forbes Jr., Cobie Durant, and Darious Williams all expected to step up in Witherspoon’s absence. All three players recorded pass breakups in Week 2, a promising sign for a secondary that will need to be at its best against the Eagles.

The Eagles, meanwhile, have picked up right where they left off last season. They are currently on an incredible 18-1 run, the most wins over any 19-game stretch in franchise history. Their offense is a well-oiled machine, led by the unstoppable “tush push” play that has become their signature. The Eagles have converted an astounding 96.6% of their fourth-and-one attempts using this controversial but effective play, and the Rams’ defense will need to find a way to contain it if they hope to win. The Eagles also boast a formidable rushing attack, with Saquon Barkley having gashed the Rams for 205 yards and two long touchdown runs in their playoff matchup last season.

This game will be decided by a few key matchups. The battle between the Rams’ explosive receiving corps and the Eagles’ young but talented cornerbacks will be one to watch. If Adams and Nacua can continue their dominant play, it will go a long way towards a Rams victory. On the other side of the ball, the Rams’ offensive line will have its hands full with the Eagles’ ferocious defensive front. Keeping Stafford upright and giving him time to throw will be crucial to the Rams’ success. Ultimately, this game will come down to which team can execute its game plan and make the fewest mistakes. The Rams have the talent and the motivation to win this game, but they will need to play a near-perfect game to overcome the formidable Eagles in their own stadium.

This Week 3 showdown has all the makings of an instant classic. It’s a battle of two undefeated teams, a playoff rematch, and a potential NFC Championship preview. For the Rams, it’s a chance to prove that they are true Super Bowl contenders. For the Eagles, it’s an opportunity to solidify their status as the team to beat in the NFC. Football fans won’t want to miss this epic clash on Sunday afternoon.
