LOS ANGELES, CA– The Kings demonstrated their fluent offensive abilities as they maneuvered past the Canadiens, 6-3.
From the start, Los Angeles came out fast and ready to attack on offense. This not only gave the Kings a good start, but it allowed the kings to control the flow of the game all the way through.
Offensive prowess from the Kings allowed them to collect more scoring opportunities. The Kings racked up 36 shots on goals, while the Canadiens only had 21 shots.
“We came out with a lot of energy, we were moving our feet, and we were playing North.” Warren Foegle “I think that’s one thing we’ve done, especially our last two games, is playing more North.”
Playing North, not only picked up the speed for the Kings, but it slowed down momentum for the Canadiens. This allowed players like Warren Foegle and Kevin Fiala to combat any retaliation from Montreal.
After Montreal tied it 1-1, Foegle scored the penalty shot that gave the Kings the lead in the second period. In the third period, Kevin Fiala delivered two goals to put away the Canadiens.
Vladislav Gavrikov, Fiala and Foegle all collected two points for the Kings. Fiala scored two goals for both his points. Foegle and Gavrikov both had a goal and an assist to collect two points each.
However, Quinton Byfield had points by any player for the Kings. Byfield had all three of his points come from assists.
Despite the loss, the Canadiens offense was able to produce three goals. Mike Matheson, Alexandre Carrier, Alex Mailloux all scored for Montreal.
Los Angeles finished up their eight-game stretch against Eastern Conference teams. The Kings will now turn their focus against a Stanley Cup contender out West.
In a matchup against a talented Dallas team, the Kings will look to continue their impressive offensive showcase. The Kings will host the Stars on Friday at Crypto.com Arena.
