DALLAS – – — Three players score 20 or more points as the Clippers use a strong second-half showing to knock off the shorthanded Dallas Mavericks 118-95 on Thursday night.
Norman Powell (29), James Harden (24) and Ivica Zubac (21) led the Clippers to a win in Dallas. Zubac added 15 rebounds and 5 assists.
Los Angeles had a total of five players score in double figures in the win.
The Clippers led 50-49 at the half. It looked like one of those games that could be tricky for Los Angeles even with the Mavericks playing without stars Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
It didn’t turn out that way as the Clippers started to make shots and play desperate defense to slow down & shut down the shorthanded Mavs in the second half.
Los Angeles outscored Dallas in the second half 68-46 and only allowed 18 points in the fourth quarter.
Clippers forward Amir Coffey chipped in 16 points off the bench leading all bench players.
The teams meet again Saturday at 5:30 p.m. PT. The teams’ other two meetings will be a back-to-back on April 4-5 at the Intuit Dome.
