DENVER — — The Clippers fail to protect the ball with 19 turnovers as they fade in the second half losing 120-98 to the Denver Nuggets on Friday night.
Los Angeles played nearly even with the Nuggets in the first half but struggled after leading 58-55 early in the second half. Jamal Murray came up with two steals that sparked the Denver’s momentum-turning run.
The Clippers lack of ball protection led to a 36-to-25 advantage when it came to fast break points for Denver.
James Harden, who had a rough night with 9 turnovers himself scored 15 points adding 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
Kevin Porter Jr. was one of the only bright spots for the Clippers as he led the team in scoring with 16 points of the bench.
The Clippers held three-time MVP Nikola Jokic to just 16 points and seven rebounds but it wasn’t enough.
This was the first loss of the season to the Nuggets for the Clippers. They won the previous two matchups. The two teams will matchup again on January 8th.
The Clippers will now look to end their three-game losing streak on Monday night back at home when they face-off against the Utah Jazz.
